A Month of MAC: MAC M.A.C Red

Hello there,

Day 24 of this series. I'm really happy how its all going, I'm getting a lot of comments back about how people are enjoying everything so thank you very much.

Today's lipstick is one of my favourite reds out there. Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet MAC M.A.C Red.

MAC describes this Satin Finish lipstick as a Vivid Bright Bluish-Red.

30 Days 30 Lipsticks #25 MAC Russian Red

Hello there,

Firstly Merry Christmas everyone, I hope everyone has had a lovely day so far and that you all got loads of lovely presents.

As today is Christmas Day, there was only choice for colour... RED!!

MAC Russian Red

I've never been one to wear make up on Christmas Day, however I've decided to go wild this year. I'm sporting gold eye and a red lip and a touch of mascara and foundation, nothing to wild and it was simple to do.

MAC Russian Red is the perfect blue toned red for me, it just works perfectly with my pale complexion. It is a Matte finish, which isn't my favourite finish but it works a purpose and looks good so I don't mind.

I do find that this lipstick drags on application, which is something to keep in mind if you are looking into a purchase of this lipstick, however it isn't something that should stop you. If you prepare your lips before application with a lip scrub and a balm, you can fight the dragging sensation.

What do you think?

30 days 30 lipsticks Day 13 MAC RIRi Woo

Hello there,

Friday 13th is upon is, I hope your day has not gone wrong. Touch wood my day has been alright.

Today's lip is one that I have put on tonight to go to a Christmas concert in Birmingham with my parents.

My make up look tonight was a mix of neautral from the day (i.e work) and a little extra with eyeliner, eyebrows and a crease colour on the eye.. All not pictured below.

I went for a statement red lip as it went well with my dress and I always think a red lip means glamour.

MAC RiRi Woo is a limited edition lipstick inspired by Rihanna's Favourite MAC shade, which has been released and re-released 3 times each time with different packaging. As you can see I own the version that came in the Rose Gold packaging.

It is a cool toned red, which is near enough identical to the permanent MAC shade Ruby Woo, so if you like the look of this lipstick, I suggest checking the alternative.

The one thing I don't like about this lipstick is the formula... It's a Retro Matte!! This means that it's matter than matte and that means it tends to drag on the lips during application and creates no shine on the lips ( and I like my creamy shiney finishes).

The bonus of a retro matte is that is staying power is amazing. I have friend who have said they can go a whole day without having to reapply.

What do you think of this lipstick?

                     See you tomorrow,

30 Days 30 Lipsticks Day #8 Maxfactor Ruby Tuesday

Hello there,

Day 8 and today I bring you a most gorgeous red lipstick, it is Maxfactor Ruby Tuesday. A sunday is normally spent without make up, however today was slightly different but more of that to follow...

I love a red lip, I am a lovely of all things vintage and vintage inspired and I don't think you can get any more vintage inspired than a cherry red lip.

The Maxfactor Ruby Tuesday lipstick has a moisturising feel to it and it leaves the lips looking gorgeous and glossy. It glides on smoothly and evenly without any hint of a drag and as you can see it is a very pigmented lipstick.

Lasting time on the lips is around the 4 hour mark, which is standard for lipsticks on my lips.

What do you think?

30 days 30 lipsticks #1 MAC Lady Danger

Hi there,

I thought it would be nice to start this blog properly with a round of 30 days, 30 lipsticks. This means over the whole of December, I will be showing you a lipstick a day.

Today's lipstick is the one I wore to yesterday's meet up in London.

MAC Lady Danger

Say hello to my gorgeous train face. Excuse me if I look tired it was past 10 o'clock at night and I had been stuck on a train for nearly 2 hours.

But anyway, the lipstick. Meet MAC Lady Danger, a relatively new lipstick of mine but possibly one of my new favourites. It was bought after the lovely Laura from Laurzah suggested I should buy it and I'm so glad I did.

It is a bright orangey red and it is perfect for making a statement. The finish is Matte and I do find it a little drying but it doesn't drag to put it on and the drying problem can be dealt with.

What do you think of this colour?
