A Month of MAC: MAC Velvet Teddy

Hey there,

Today's lipstick is one that when I was in Selfridges a couple of weekends ago with Sarah and Aimee eating a Salt Beef Sandwich, I said that flat out I wouldn't ever buy this lipstick and then lo and behold two days later, I was ordering it.

Today's lipstick, Ladies and Gentlemen is MAC Velvet Teddy.

MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick

Oh this make up free selfie is not one of my best, excuse the state that is my face.
The reason I said I would not ever buy this lipstick before I bought it was because of it's colour. It is a brown toned lipstick and I didn't/still don't exactly know what I can do with it. However when I applied it for the first time today and studied myself in the mirror, I decided it wasn't as scary as I thought. My plan is to pair it with a slightly pink toned lipliner, such as the Rimmel East End Snob liner or it's high end highly popular dupe MAC Whirl...which I don't own.

MAC describes this Matte Finish lipstick as a Deep Tone Beige. I know not everyone's cup of tea but it's a grower I think.

A Month of MAC: MAC Heroine

Hey there,

Today's pick was inspired by Aimee from Aimee Loves, who bought this lipstick at the weekend and applied it reminding me how pretty the lipstick is.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet MAC Heroine.

Yes I am fresh faced and yes I have got headphones in.. I was mid cleaning when I realised I hadn't done a lipstick picture.

MAC Heroine is a Matte Finish lipstick which is very obviously a purple shade. MAC describe this colour as a Bright Purple. The colour of this lip colour is slightly brighter than it seems in the picture. It is a very easy to wear purple which I think will suit many people.

A Month of MAC: MAC Lady Danger

Hey there,

Today I bring you one of my favourite lipsticks that MAC do. Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet MAC Lady Danger.

This photo was taken in my London hotel room this weekend... it had the worst lighting in the world but it still shows the colour.

This Matte finish lipstick is described by MAC as a Vivid Bright Coral Red. Its a perfect bright red colour that is perfect for a pop of colour.

MAC Flat out Fabulous Lipstick

Hey there!

Today I thought I would introduce you to a current lipstick love of mine. It is by MAC (of course) and it's called Flat out Fabulous.

I was first introduced to this lipstick in London at the beginning of January when I went into the Carnaby Street Pro Store to try out a foundation.. cue me sitting in the chair getting new foundation, concealer, powder, blusher, lip liner and lipstick applied. Of course when you are sat in the chair you know you'll have to buy something, so I did.

Two of my purchases were Flat out Fabulous and the matching lip pencil, Magenta. Let's just say dear readers that from the moment these two products were applied it was love. Flat out Fabulous is a Matte Lipstick and is described as a Bright Plum by MAC and Magenta Lip Liner is it's best friend.

You see I had never really been one to use a lip liner, I had never found them useful and they just looked wrong, however my mind has been changed. Magenta lines the lips brilliantly and helps to keep everything in place.

This lipstick-lipliner duo lasted for most of the day on Valentines Day when I first wore it. Meals were eaten, drinks were drunk and only one tiny retouch was needed. I was very impressed.

30 Days 30 Lipsticks #25 MAC Russian Red

Hello there,

Firstly Merry Christmas everyone, I hope everyone has had a lovely day so far and that you all got loads of lovely presents.

As today is Christmas Day, there was only choice for colour... RED!!

MAC Russian Red

I've never been one to wear make up on Christmas Day, however I've decided to go wild this year. I'm sporting gold eye and a red lip and a touch of mascara and foundation, nothing to wild and it was simple to do.

MAC Russian Red is the perfect blue toned red for me, it just works perfectly with my pale complexion. It is a Matte finish, which isn't my favourite finish but it works a purpose and looks good so I don't mind.

I do find that this lipstick drags on application, which is something to keep in mind if you are looking into a purchase of this lipstick, however it isn't something that should stop you. If you prepare your lips before application with a lip scrub and a balm, you can fight the dragging sensation.

What do you think?

Love,
C
