Lipstick Lusterings

Hey there,

If you follow my main blog, you will know that I have put myself on a bit of a spending ban for a while in order to buy a MacBook Pro. I want to be able to film on my DSLR and edit on a computer, things that I can't do at the moment with my current set up. For this reason I am trying not to do any unnecessary spending on make up I don't really need.

So I feel I've left this blog alone for too long and for that I'm sorry, I plan to make it up to you though. You see I plan to post at least once a week on this blog for this month and then I have plans for something a little special in August.

You see I recently realised that I have more than enough MAC lipsticks to do one a day as a blog post on this blog. This way I get to share my collection with you in a nice way, where nothing is too overpowering and it isn't a long video.

So for now I shall leave you. I just wanted to check in on this blog and tell you that it is still alive and well and just has been a little unloved.

30 Days 30 Lipsticks Day #10 Revlon Berry Couture

Hello there,

It's day 10 and I'm still going, are you impressed? I am.

Today's lipstick is a lovely Revlon, which I recently picked up on a whim but I really love it. It is 

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Berry Couture.

                                

Classic Duckface right there. Berry Couture is a pinky purple shade which isn't too offensive or scary, perfect for the girl who is unsure whether she can rock a purple or bright pink lip. 

The finish of this lipstick is creamy if a little sheer and lasts a couple of hours on the lips. Think MAC Amplified Creme finish and you've got the idea.

30 Days 30 Lipsticks Day #6 MAC Violetta

Hello there,

So the past few days have been rather muted as I have been taking the pictures before I drive to work at 7.30am and I don't want to scare the children with nearly black lips, however todays lipstick is something I just put on to show the beauty of it... so I put it on after work.

Today's lipstick is MAC Violetta, a true purple lipstick which is a Pro Lipstick. This doesn't mean you have to be a professional to get it, it just means you can only get it in a Pro Store. In the UK there are two Pro stores in London, I'm not sure if there are any other anywhere else.

The lipstick has an Amplified Creme finish, which means that it has a very creamy feel to it and a little bit of a glossy look. It is my favourite finish of all the MAC Lipstick finishes. 

I love the colour too... Purple is one of my favourite colours as you might be able to tell from my background, until last year I wouldn't have dared to put it on my lips. However, I really love wearing lipsticks like this one as I think that it works well with my pale skin, dark hair and brown eyes.

30 Days 30 Lipsticks #5 Natural Collection Lipstick in Rose Bud

Hello there,

It's day 5 and today I bring you a very special lipstick to me, not because its an expensive lipstick or anything wild but it is because it is a reincarnation of the first lipstick I ever had.

When I was being introduced to make up, something that happened rather late in my teenage life (my mum isn't a big make up wearer, god knows how I've become so obsessed), all my make up was really cheap, apart from my first foundation, which was from a brand called Almay and was relatively expensive by high street standards because growing up my skin was very sensitive.

Back to the matter in hand....This lipstick retails for around £1.90 ish so its really cheap and I really like the colour too. Its a slightly darker than my lips pink, a really simple day to day lipstick.

Not the greatest picture but I hope you get the picture with the lipstick.

30 Lipstcks 30 Days #4 Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie

Hello there,

Day four has arrived and today I bring you a Revlon Lip Butter. I really like the Revlon Lip Butters as they are rather conditioning and creamy on the lips and the pigmentation of the products are decent, depending on which shades you try.

I wore this lipstick quite a lot last year around this time as it is a great autumn pink as it is a bright pink, and I very much enjoy my bright lips, but its a little bit darker which is what I tend to go for when the weather gets colder and the days get shorter.

The finish of this lipstick is very glossy and it can be a bit sticky, thanks to its butter like qualities but I think the stickyness actually helps to keep the colour intact for longer.

30 Days 30 Lipsticks #3 YSL Rouge Volupte in Nude Beige

Hello there,

It's the third day of my 30 day lipstick challenge. Today I bring you a lipstick which has the most beautiful packaging in the world and that is the YSL Rouge Volupte in Nude Beige.

It's a nude which I actually wore to school, thus the lazy bun hair style and comfy jumper... my work specialities. 

Nude Beige does what it says on the tin, its a nude. However I don't see it as beige. I find that the lipstick has a pink undertone rather than a beige one. Its a perfect nude for me as it is just a little lighter than my natural lip colour so I love pulling this lipstick out when I rock a darker eye.

Formula wise, you thought Cremesheens/amplified creme finishes from MAC were creamy.... you've not seen creamy and hydrating until you've tried these lipsticks. Staying power is around 3/4 hours which isn't bad for me  but if you want to look fancy, you will definitely look posh if you pull this lipstick out of your bag.

This lipstick is a pricy one as it retails for around the £23 mark but I love to wear this lipstick out and about because I feel special when I wear it.

30 Days 30 Lipsticks #2 MAC Syrup

Hello there, 

Day 2 of the 30 day, 30 lipstick challenge. Today I bring you another MAC Lipstick, I promise they won't all be MAC.

Today's lipstick is MAC Syrup.

MAC Syrup is a Lustre finish. This means that the colour payoff is mild but the finish I find is quite glossy. Syrup, I like to think, is a berry shade for the people who are afraid of a bold berry lip. The colour as you can see is still there but it isn't too in your face and leaves just a nice colour on the lips.

30 days 30 lipsticks #1 MAC Lady Danger

Hi there,

I thought it would be nice to start this blog properly with a round of 30 days, 30 lipsticks. This means over the whole of December, I will be showing you a lipstick a day.

Today's lipstick is the one I wore to yesterday's meet up in London.

Say hello to my gorgeous train face. Excuse me if I look tired it was past 10 o'clock at night and I had been stuck on a train for nearly 2 hours.

But anyway, the lipstick. Meet MAC Lady Danger, a relatively new lipstick of mine but possibly one of my new favourites. It was bought after the lovely Laura from Laurzah suggested I should buy it and I'm so glad I did.

It is a bright orangey red and it is perfect for making a statement. The finish is Matte and I do find it a little drying but it doesn't drag to put it on and the drying problem can be dealt with.

What do you think of this colour?

I am a lipstick obsessive and I thought my obsession needed its own blog. I love all brands of lipstick, my obsession has seen me through hard times and good times and I think I can safely say that I have a lipstick for every occasion.
