MAC Modesty

Hello there,

Sometimes there are lipsticks that come into your life that you haven't heard of on any twitter chats or any blogs and sometimes those lipsticks are some of the best.

Recently I found one of those hidden gem lipsticks and today I thought I'd share it with you all.

On the MAC website it is described as a "muted neutral pink" which doesn't do it justice. This lipstick to me is a pinker version of MAC Blankety ,which is a lipstick that has a soft spot in my heart as it was one of my first ever MAC lipsticks.

As it is a Creamsheen, this lipstick applies nicely, has no drag to it and leaves the lips with a good layer of a creamy opaque colour.

I absolutely adore this lip colour and I think it deserves more love out there. If you are a fan of nude lip colours, you need it, if you are going to be a bride soon and don't want an overly pink lip, you need it, if you are a lipstick obsessive or MAC collector, you definitely need it.

Overall, this is a lipstick that you all definitely need in your lives. What do you think of this lipstick? Do you own it?

Lots of Love,
Clare

Crazy about Lipstick Tag

Hey there,

So I was planning to put up another Lipstick post this weekend, however I haven't really been wearing lipstick thanks to a cut in my mouth and a little bruise I've got by my lip that I got whilst at work this week. So instead of leaving this week without a blog post I thought I would post a tag. I found this tag on YouTube and I thought that it would be a good one to do.

1. How many lipsticks in your collection?
Please don't make me actually count. I have 50 MAC Lipsticks, 24 other "high end" lipsticks then 7 narrow muji drawers full. Let's just say A LOT.

2. How old were you when you started wearing lipstick?

I don't know the exact age,I wore lipstick since about 15-16. But I wasn't as obsessed as I am until about 5 years ago.

3. What lipstick that you can't live without?

Hmmm... This changes often. Maybe a nice neutral like MAC Faux or Twig.

4. What lipstick do you use to stand out?

Anything that has a bold colour stands out in my village. I do love MAC Rebel and Urban Decay Anarchy when I want to stand out.

5. What were the lipsticks that you bought ?

Erm all of them...apart from a few I've won through giveaways.

6. What lipstick did you regret buying?

MAC Viva Glam Nicki II. I think I got caught by a sales ladies that day.

7. What is your favourite lipstick at the moment?

MAC Faux OR the pairing of MAC Snob Lipstick and Soar Lipliner, which I blogged about HERE.

8. What is the most expensive/inexpensive lipstick that you have ?

Most expensive are my Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks, which are £23 and inexpensive is the Natural Collection Lipsticks, which are £1.99.

9. Do you like, love or addicted to lipstick ?

Well, I have a lot of them as you can see, I don't think that I have enough PLUS I have a blog completely for Lipsticks. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted.

10. What lipstick that remind you of special someone ?

Estee Lauder Pure Envy Lipstick in Desirable reminds me of my oldest friend as I wore it as a bridesmaid for her wedding.

I tag everyone who is reading this. Link me down below if you take part.

MAC Soar and Snob.. a dream team in the making?

Hey Lovelies,

Like most people out there, I'm a big YouTube fan, I probably watch more YT than television nowadays plus I have my own YouTube Channel which I post on twice a week so most of my life is on that site.

Whilst watching one of Lorna from Scared Toast, she mentioned a MAC pairing that I had not considered before. She mentioned putting MAC Soar Lipliner underneath Snob Lipstick.I bought Soar Lipliner recently thanks to the Kylie Jenner effect and Snob is a lipstick I've had for a while but hardly wear because it's quite light and blue toned.

I decided to try out Lorna's lipstick duo recently and I liked the results so I thought I'd share it with you all.

Soar Lipliner Left,Snob Right

The pairing together leaves a gorgeous deep pinky nude, which reminds me a bit of a more opaque version of  MAC Faux Lipstick. The deep tones of the Soar lipliner deepens the pale baby pink of Snob however the blue tones of Snob gives the final result a slight purple tinge to it. I'm so delighted for finding out about this pairing.

What do you think?

Chanel Boy

Hello,

Sometimes, once in a blue moon, you find something you can't live without that you can buy from a blog sale. In previous blog sale purchases, I have picked up perfumes for super reduced prices and one of the best finds was a hardly used 50ml bottle of Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair for around £20 (it retails for over double that in stores).

However, I think my favourite purchase from a blog sale is a lipstick, Chanel Boy.

This lipstick is a perfect lipstick which can be paired with many a beauty look, from a simple every day look to a deep smokey eye this lipstick can do no wrong.

I first was introduced to this lipstick after watching Fleur De Force videos. For many years, she has mentioned this lipstick as one of her favourite PLUS I believe it was this lipstick which she picked for her wedding look.

The colour of this lipstick is a pink, which on me is a little darker than my natural lip colour (but only a tad). I can definitely see why a lot of people (including FDF) pick this as a bridal lipstick because it is such as sophisticated lip colour.that can easily be retouched without a mirror.

Chanel Boy is from the Rouge Coco Shine range. From experience this range has medium pigment but feels very balmy on the lips. Think a MAC Lustre Finish for pigmentation but with more of a Revlon Lip Butter balmy feel to it if that makes sense.

I'm so glad I found this in a blog sale and I definitely think that once I finish this, I shall definitely be repurchasing. The lipstick is £25 but it's Chanel so that's ok right?

Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry

Hey there,

On this blog, there has a been a lot of posts about MAC lipsticks. It is only when I looked back over all my posts that I really realised this. I think this is what happens when your MAC collection is filled with 47 lipsticks #sorrynotsorry.

Today's post isn't about of my many MAC lipsticks. Today's post is about the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade Glastonberry.

I picked this lipstick to wear to see the band Queen because I felt it fit in well with the rock chick image. Plus the name itself Glastonberry, has big connotations to the massive music festival which takes place in the UK every summer.

Anyway onto the lipstick itself... This shade can look intimidating in the bullet because it is a rather deep shade but on the lips I think you see it isn't too scary. I'd call this a deep red berry shade that is just perfect for a vampy wintery look.

The formula of the Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks is something special too. The original K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks are amazing and these are great too. They apply nicely and feel a little creamy on the lips but they "set" to a matte finish.

Have you tried this lipstick? What did you think?
Let me know in the comments.

Lots of Love,
Clare

Lipstick Lusterings

Hey there,

If you follow my main blog, you will know that I have put myself on a bit of a spending ban for a while in order to buy a MacBook Pro. I want to be able to film on my DSLR and edit on a computer, things that I can't do at the moment with my current set up. For this reason I am trying not to do any unnecessary spending on make up I don't really need.
